Hello in this post I am going to review the best guitar tuners for the IPhone. There are many of them out there but which one is the best. That is what we will discuss here.
How to find an IPhone tuner
Finding a one on the IPhone is easy just go to the APP store and type it in and it will come up with bunch of them. There are so many to choose from that is can be a little daunting. So we are going ot narrow it down here. I am going to make a list of 5 to review. The list is in no particular order at this time but I will order it at the end of the post.
Review List
- Guitar tuner
- Fender Tune
- Guitar Tuna
- Pro Guitar tuner
- Pano Tune
Guitar tuner.
This is a good APP it has great tone recognition and finds the notes quickly and precisely it has a needle gauge display and I like that. I checked it against my real tuner and it is exactly the same for each string that I pluck. The only draw back is that it only does standard tuning. The cost associated with it is $2.99 to remove the banner ads but that is a small price to pay for such a good APP.
Fender tune.
This is pretty good APP but it takes it a little while to find the correct note and let you know if it is in tune or not. It displays a big circle on the screen with the name of the string note and spells out whether it is high or low or in tune. The tone recognition is good and accurate. The cost associated to get what is called the player pack which includes Pro Tuner, Rhythm, Chords for Guitar and Scales for Guitar is $4.99. Not a bad deal if you want all that stuff included in a tuner.
Guitar Tuna.
This is not my kind of APP the tone recognition is not good compared to my real tuner it tells me that I am low for all strings. It has a needle gauge to show you the status of each string but as I said it is not correct. The other thing I don’t like about the APP is that if you want to unlock any of the other features offeres there is a monthly fee of $4.99 that is to steep of a price for me.
Pro Guitar Tuner.
This is not what I am looking for in an APP the tone recognition is not good for all strings is picked out one o of my strings as being low when it wasn’t. It has the needle indicator but was a little slow on picking up the tone of the strings. I found myself having to pluck the string several times before it would register correctly. The Price point is $9.99 and a $.99 per month subscription. Not good for the price not very accurate.
Pano Tune.
Not what I am looking for again in an APP. There is an annoying banner add at the top of the screen and there only one tuning available, standard tuning unless you know the frequency of other tuning’s it is difficult to change anything. There is an upgrade version available for $1.99. The tone recognition was not great and it took some time to find the correct note for the string.
Final List.
Here is my list in the order in my opinion in order from first to last. I based my decision on the accuracy of the tone recognition and the price point associated with it.
- Fender Tune
- Guitar Tuner
- Pano Tuner
- Guitar Tuna
- Pro Guitar Tuner
I hope this helps you in your search for an IPhone APP to tune your Guitar. I don’t think it will replace the real tuners on the market but it is a less expensive alternative. The other thing I would like to mention is that you may forget to bring your actual Tuner with you but you hardly ever forget your IPhone.
